Random Thoughts 11-21-2015

One can walk through life-like they are asleep and miss out on all the wonderful things life contains. So many walk through life on automatic pilot and let chance and the will of others direct their lives. I wonder how many visionaries, ambassadors of change and peace we have missed out on because they were sleep walking through life. The fact that happy, friendly and kind people are either ignored or passed up due to this worlds love for the strong and aggressive types doesn’t help matters much. The illusion of one person being greater or superior than another also plays a big part in the suppression of the good-hearted and the dreamers of our age.

Very little can be solved through might and aggression, if peace is achieved through aggression is will be short-lived thing. The greatest victory is the winning of the hearts and minds of the people, If you find a common thread between you and the opposition you can build a bridge of trust and find ways around you differences. Of course this requires effort and the desire for resolution between both parties. Compromises may have to be made, but this can be done in a way which both sides benefit. Peace is always beneficial to all parties involved, no one wants pain and suffering of their own people or the innocent and peace brings about co-operation between even the worst of enemies.  Only if both parties would sit down and work towards a mutual understanding of each others positions, will there be a chance for peace and a better world for the future generations to come.

Fear, Anger, mistrust and the misunderstandings between people who are different and diverse in their beliefs and/or goals fuels the ever troublesome acts of aggression within our world today. Tolerance of the differences we have as a species along with focus on the common goal of survival and better standards of living for all should be the main focus of the world leaders and the citizens of the world as well.

Peace is not mealy the absence of war or conflict, it is the presence of tolerance, understanding ,co-operation and compassion.

Mind Exposure – Instrument of Change – 11-19-2015

eyeYou must become an instrument of change if you desire change. Wanting change is not enough, you have to do more than just want it, you have to put effort into the process. You have to create the proper mindset and put forth effort towards the changes you desire. Change can come from a solitary source, but a collective and/or group effort is more affective in creating change in our world. Look at the creation of change like you would the running of a business or a family household. The more organized and thought out the plan is to create change the more affective your efforts to bring it about will be. You have to be vigilant and have a very positive mindset in order to succeed at bringing change into being.  This world is in need of change, it seems fear, greed and the lack of understanding and tolerance rules this age. The time is ripe for change in this world and we need more creative and positive people to bring about the changes this world needs.

We have the choice of being someone who sits and watches the world change around them or we can be someone who is creating the changes in the world. To act or not and which kind of changes we bring about is also or choice. Chose well this is the only life we have and this world we live in is the only one we have.

Blessings to all

kids0060You can learn so much from kids and teens, their unfiltered view of the world and their ability to see things in a simplistic way. Seems as we grow older we attach a lot of unnecessary garbage to everything we experience in life as we grow older. I remember my father telling me a many of times that it isn’t as simple as that to me when i would express my opinions on things i observed as a child. I look back at a lot of those observations and i came to conclusion a good portion of them were that simple if not more so. Seems the older we get the more complicated we make life, we overthink most situations and add on beliefs and thoughts that complicates our lives. Some things are just black and white, those that are not are still not as complex as we make them. Sometimes i think we just allowed the world we live in to cloud our ability to see things clearly and block our ability to see things in their unadulterated pure form.

Much wisdom comes from the mouths of babes, the innocence they possess is a gift that allows them to see things as they really are.

free Sometimes I just kick back and think of how many times I failed to reach my goals, how many times I allowed the failure to disrupt my life and how foolish I was to allow it to do so. Failure may not be something to strive for but it is a something we all must face from time to time. Through failure one can learn a lot, you learn not only what not to do or how not to do it, you also learn a lot about yourself and what you need to change. Failing isn’t the end of the road, it is but a pothole that you ran over. So don’t let it become a roadblock or worse. Every great inventor had to have many failures before they found the right design, Edison went through many failures on the light bulb before he got the right design to make it work. So failure is something we all must deal with along our way to success.Main thing is to never give up, keep on trying until you exhaust every option you have. Eventually you will find the right combination and or plan to make it work.

mp900426559Life is full of twists and turns, probabilities and mishaps. Most of which you either caused or created by the choices you had made. The outcome you seek is not always what you receive, this is especially true when you are blind to the fact you are the one behind the wheel and that it is not just chance or fate dealing the cards. Most things are within our control, some are just random variables that we can not control or avoid. Though unavoidable does not mean that we can not set in motion countermeasures to adjust the final outcome.

tpl_7_pplThings such as fate and destiny are not set in stone, we can change them with hard work and determination. Some things may not be able to be stopped once they are in motion, but they can be slowed down and even with enough effort you can change the direction they are flowing. That is the nice thing about having free will , you can change your fate or destiny by changing the way you think, act, react and live your life. This is your life after all, it isn’t a scripted play nor is it just a random collection of coincidences. The author of your life is you, therefore you can change the story line at any given time in your life.

0181Acceptance of a situation is not giving in or giving up, it is the realization that not all things are within our ability to change. Accepting the things we can not change frees our mind and changes our focus on to the things we can change. The trick is learning what things are changeable and which things that are not. Even when we face situations we can not change, we still can chose how we react to them and even change the outcome of such events to a more favorable one. We are never completely powerless when it comes to life, we may feel overwhelmed and helpless but there is always something we can do to direct the final outcome. A good example is a thief who has been caught and faces imprisonment, he can either lie and deny his guilt or he can be honorable and admit his guilt. Sure he will still face prison time but he will do so with some honor intact. Also during his time served he can either just wait it out doing nothing or use that time to improve himself. Be it a spiritual, physical or mental improvement matters little. Using the time he has to improve himself will bring a far better outcome than to sit there doing nothing in his jail cell. If he does nothing while there he will probably return to the life of crime only to either wind back up in prison or worse.  I guess it is like the old saying “if life serves you lemons then make lemonade”. Make the best of every situation, look for any and all ways to take a bad situation and turn it into one that will benefit you and/or others in the end.

It is not necessarily who you are in life but how you live life that matters in the end.

The Need to Belong

Originally posted on living the moment now:

We are all wanting to belong to a particular idea . We identify with a sports team by being fans and worshiping the team mascot. Or we choose to identify with a political party and idolize the candidate that represents the party. Or we may want to identify with a specific religion or philosophy , and live our lives based on a set of values. We can even identify with fashion, culture,or ethnicity. All of this, simply to feel as if we belong ..

And why do we want to belong? So that we can feel secured and protected. So that we don’t feel alone and vulnerable. We fear being alone. We dont want to be different , to prevent being singled out, ridiculed, and marginalized. We want to blend with the crowd.

Right Response to Your Situation

Originally posted on :

Perhaps one of the throbbing ideas to know is when someone close to you have something against you. But still, glad I made a right response.

I could have confronted the person. I could have easily hold grudges and maligned that individual. I could have said bad and below the belt words. I could do it if I wanted to. But at the end, God reminded me on James 4:1 – What causes fight and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? He told me, “Hey calm down, don’t fight the wrong battle. It’s under My control.”

I realized that life is no longer about me but it’s all about Him.  It’s not about my feelings or emotions anymore or me being hurt.  It’s no longer me living in my body but it is Christ who lives in me (Galatians 2:20). Though I was hurt knowing…

sixteen kinds of hurt

Originally posted on Rustichello's Folly:

When my Dad was mad he’d threaten me with sixteen kinds of hurt.

There was the clip over the ear; the smack on the chops; the belt across my buttocks; the gut punch; the double fisted shirt grab; the single handed throat grip; the thrown object; the arse over tit shove; the chair knock over; the millimetre-close door slam; the bookcase pulldown; the plate slid across the table to smash and send food into my lap. There were probably others. Who was counting? The whole show was all about his abandonment to ferocity, the strength of his feeling and the feeling was entirely of the moment. Wherever he was  and whatever he had to hand, right there and right then.

Thinking back, the hurt never changed much. To me it was always the same goulash of surprise, fear, humiliation, shame and bewilderment. Even today, in moments of stress, these same…

Your mind can be your best friend or it can be your worst enemy. The thing about the mind is that clutter, useless thoughts and external distractions can and usually will cause it to function poorly if not cause it to be erratic and/or chaotic. A disciplined mind with clear and focused thinking is the key to a healthier mind.   Stress is the result of an undisciplined mind that is distracted easily by external forces. A mind that has stress is similar to a computer that is overheating, while stressed the mind is unable to function properly and becomes chaotic in the way it reacts to situations.  How can we reduce stress or learn to avoid stress all together is something we all need to learn to do.

Irrational thought and self degrading thoughts are but wasted mental energy, they are remnants of shame, guilt and the uncertainty within your subconscious.  Any guilt that one feels should be short-lived, once you learn the lessons from the mistakes you made you are supposed to move on. Holding on to such negative emotions and thoughts only serve to weigh you down and cause you to be indecisive. Forgive yourself and learn from your mistakes, don’t live in the aftermath of them. If you have learned from your mistakes and never repeat them then you should carry little to no guilt.  For what is done is done and beyond sincerely apologizing or full disclosure  of your guilt in the matter, there is little that one can do beyond that.

Learn from the lessons life brings you, don’t live in them. Be one who acts upon the circumstances around them, not one who reacts. Forgive others and yourself, for no person is without fault or blame.  Be yourself and learn what it means to be true to yourself as well. Always remember your thoughts, words and actions not only affect you, they affect every one around you and sometimes even those you will never meet.
