Random Thoughts–2/6/2017

018  Acceptance, something most of us crave and need to be a functional and somewhat happy individual. A lot of the time we are accepted by our peers but we have a hard time accepting ourselves.  Our brain takes what we think about ourselves and uses it to filter the world around us, so even if someone is loved, appreciated and accepted they may feel the total opposite of that if they have a poor self image and can not accept themselves for who and what they are.

If most people would just spend 1/4 of the time they do on trying to be accepted by others on improving their self image and in accepting themselves then they would be much happier in their lives.  Learning to accept yourself with all your faults and bad habits is not a walk in the park, but it is not a non obtainable goal. The first thing is learning to forgive yourself for the things you did that you consider wrong or mistakes. The baggage of past actions only builds guilt, which guilt has a purpose but it is not meant to be lifelong thing.  Forgive yourself, your only human and you will make mistakes along the way. Learn from them, forgive yourself and move on. Let go of your past, don’t live in the past for it only steals away today. If you have things you do still that bother you then work hard on changing them, but until you change them learn to accept that side of yourself and forgive yourself for not being perfect.

Focus on serving others, to do good for others is a great way to improve your self image and worth. It also teaches you to consider others above yourself at times. Find activities that make you feel better about yourself and get out and socialize, being an island unto yourself is not the best way to live, it only opens you up to being lonely and disconnected from the world we live in.  Just remember no matter what you have done in your life, that you deserve to be happy and live life to its fullest.  Even if it was something horrible, that was then and this is now, learn to be a better person and live a happy and productive life like we all should live.

Blessings and happiness to you all

IMG_1371-editedSitting here reflecting on my life and all the trials I have been through on my journey through life, I have noticed that many times in my life I was so blessed but I was blind to the treasures that was bestowed upon me . It is so easy only to see the curses in your life and overlook all the blessings that surround you. It seems that as humans we tend to focus on the tragedy of life more so than the wonder of it.

We get caught up in the grass is always greener and why does our next door neighbor seem to have it better than we do mentality. Funny thing is our neighbor may be looking at our grass or our life and thinking the exact same thing.  We need to open our eyes and be appreciative of the wondrous gifts we have been given in our lives, we need to stop looking for something more or what we think may be better. We should mow our own grass and pull the weeds instead of trying to buy or steal the grass of our neighbors.

Yeah it all boils down to the old and worn out saying that life is what you make it. That saying is very accurate, though it forgets to mention it’s a  process that you must be vigilant at.  Making life how you want it is just like tending to a garden, you have to weed the garden and water it quite often to keep it beautiful and weed free.

All aspects of life require work to make it good and accepting that what you have is a blessing in progress and not a curse is a key to making a happier life.

Be good to one another and be accepting of yourself and the life you have been blessed with

Some things in life or just all out our control, other things though we can either change or manipulate in this material universe.  Mind over matter is the key to A happier life , we have the ability to manipulate the physical universe through sheer force of will.  A combination of mental will power and hard work there’s very little this species of humanity can accomplish.

It takes the combination of visualization and physically working towards the manifestation of your goals.  The biggest roadblock to reaching most people’s goals is self-doubt, and the second biggest roadblock is the everyday distractions we enjoy in life such as watching TV playing games and socializing in general.  Not saying these things don’t have a place in our life, but there’s a time to put those things aside in order to accomplish a goal.

The only secret to accomplishing ones goals is to be a positive and persistant pursuer of the goals you have set.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner here in the United States, a time to give thanks for all that has been bestowed upon you and the blessing of life itself. It is the time of the year to remember those we have lost and a time to celebrate those we have found. It is also a time to realize how blessed we are to still be here and alive.

During this holiday season put your past and the past of others behind you and celebrate the gift of the here and now. Forgive and forget so the future we face will be a brighter one for all of us. Most of al forgive yourself, hard to move on to the future if your stuck in the regrets of things from your past. Embrace one another, for we are all we have here on this journey of life. Your friends and family are the foundation of your life and should be the ones you embrace and celebrate.

Hope each one of you have a blessed day and a happy Thanksgiving

Life in the early years seems to be endless and full of wonder, not much keeps you down and all seems wonderful. As you grow you face the ups and downs of youth such as the judgement by your peers. Years you spend trying to be like the rest, trying to fit in and be accepted. In  the end you will find it was all a waste of time, trying to be someone other than you are is a big waste of time.

You are who you are, and for a good reason. You were meant to be yourself not someone else. Instead of putting all that energy into fitting in and being like others , you should put all of that energy into being the best version of you that you can be and let them try to fit in with you. We all are unique individuals, we need to be ourselves and stop being followers of social norms and be more of a unique collection of individuals.

Be true to who you are and be true to your uniqueness.

006-2.jpgIn our world there is two kind of strengths within a human, the physical and the mental. The physical has always been celebrated in ancient as well as modern society. Might make right mentality has existed since the dawn of man, though it had its purpose in ancient times since we had to battle not only each other for land and the resources therein we also had to battle the forces of nature and the predators that roamed the lands. Might is not always right, matter of fact it usually it is wrong regardless that it seems to still rule our  world.

Humanity still seems to choose the path of war, hate and fear over the path of peace and mutual co-operation. We rather fight over the remaining resources on our wonderful planet called earth than to share them and work together to find solutions to our current problems. Think what the world could achieve if the Governments would dedicate just half the resources they dedicate to their military to feeding the hungry, healing the sick and finding alternative energy sources that are renewable and less toxic to our home here on earth.

Think what the would happen if people across the world could achieve if they invested all their energy into improving the community and the lives of one another. Too much energy is wasted on fear, mistrust and holding on to hatreds from the past. Can not move forward until you resolve and let go of the past. The day we finally see we are more alike than different and that we all are one species regardless of the differences between us is the day humanity will become the species we are destined to be.

Political Correctness is not the answer that is just refraining from saying what we truly think and feel. The only answer is to change who we are inside, to grow beyond our fears, hatred and distrust of one another. Repressing feelings does not change them, usually it just makes things worse and multiplies their strength. We need to face those feelings and learn to understand them as well as their root. Then overcome them by removing the root cause. Yes easier said than done but very possible, that is one of the wonderful things about humans, we can always change and grow.

In the end it don’t matter who was right or wrong, its more about what is the right thing to do. It does not matter that we think differently, that we look different or we have different beliefs. What matters is every one of us is just as important as the next, we all play a part in this tapestry of life. Think of humanity as one large machine, one that self replicates and changes the landscape of its home. A machine should be designed to work together for a common purpose or goal. At this point in time the machine or the species of humanity is working more against itself than together, though I believe the majority of us desire peace, happiness and the ability to coexist harmoniously. Those in power don’t seem to understand or they are blind to the fact they are walking the path of extinction.

It is time for humanity to wake up, for the those in charge to grow up and focus on the well-being of all humanity not just their own nations or their agendas. Stop the sabre rattling and sit down with each other to find a mutually beneficial path for all the countries and people of the world. Not a one world government but a world full of governments that focus on the wellbeing of all of humanity.  Put away our fears, misunderstandings and distrust of one another. Forgive and forget the mistakes that each side has made and focus on a future where we can avoid repeating the same mistakes.

Do this for yourself, your families and the generations to come, I believe we all want the world to be a better place for our children and the children to come. The survival of the human race hangs in the balance and its up to all of us to make sure we walk the path that will be the best for all of mankind.

In this world we have a rainbow of personalities, all shaped from life experiences and the decisions we have made. Each individual is unique, though you may find similarities between us , but there is far more that is different between all of us than there is the same. What matters the most is not the differences but the common core between most if not all people in our world, the desire to be happy, a better future for their children and  to live in peace. Of course there are warmongers, those who hate life and fear and/or despise anyone different from themselves.

Too much finger pointing and transference of blame onto others within humanity, it is so much easier to blame someone else for our misfortunes and for what we lack in our life. Sometimes it is someone else’s fault, but most of the time its our own because we either made the wrong choice in life or did not make a choice where and when we needed to.  We could have followed the wrong leader, chose the wrong profession or the wrong person to love and marry. So Many factors play a part in the situations you have been through and will face in the future, every word and action you take influences both the present and the future that will come.

In the end one is always remembered by how they treated other people, how much they gave of themselves to the community and the way they lived their life. All the accomplishments in academia , the business world or political stage means very little when it’s all said and done.

Though we all are so different, in the end we are so much alike. Live life to the fullest and remember this is not a solo journey that everyone around you is your traveling partners through life. Treat them well and they hopefully will do the same. When it’s all said and done we all can hope we will be remembered with love and endearment.

God Bless and Happy Friday to all

“When it stops being about yourself and starts being about others is when you are on the right path. Being we are but human we tend to focus more on the self and less on others around us. By doing such we miss out on many gifts that are right in front of us. And we deny others from knowing our heart in the process.”

Sometimes we seem to be our own worst enemy, we tend to judge ourselves by impossible standards and with a harsher eye. We allow the opinions of others to influence our self-image, which if its positive is a good thing but unfortunately people are quicker to point out the flaws and mistakes in others than the good points. WE ned to learn to accept our own imperfections as a part of who we are now, if we don’t like them then we can change them as time goes by. But no reason to be down on yourself for being human and being imperfect, it’s all a part of life and growing as a person.

By understanding this about ourselves we also to accept the imperfections etc. in others as well. This is good for it will foster a friendlier atmosphere be it at home, work and when we are out having fun. Life is way too short to be a perfectionist and one who can’t be forgiving of themselves or others.

Sometimes we get so caught up in our own emotions, thoughts and ego that we overlook the fact that the other person in front of us has feelings of their own. We allow our own pain and frustration cloud our vision of what is really going on. We all suffer from loneliness, self-doubt and emotional pain in life. No one has a monopoly on such things and we should try to be more understanding and compassionate towards others, because they too suffer as we do in life.

Forgiveness and empathy are keys to a happy relationship, the understanding of the fact we all are the same far as what we suffer in life opens up the door to forgiveness. Remember we all are human therefore we shall make mistakes, we all feel similar feelings and experience very similar hardships in life. If you look at it like each one of us are a part of a whole, then you will see that if one piece of the whole is broken the whole suffers. So to be compassionate, forgiving and empathetic towards the other pieces is beneficial to the whole as much as it is to the individual.
