Navigating the River of Time

The Current That Carries Us

There are moments when life feels like a small boat swept along a roaring stream. The present dissolves into the past almost as soon as it arrives, and the future rushes past before we can take it in. Glancing at the shoreline only reveals whatโ€™s already behind us, while what lies ahead slips away too quickly to enjoy. Moving ever forward, we learn that the only place we truly live is right here, right now.

Learning to Steer

At first, I found myself looking backward so long that the treasures of today went unnoticed. Other times, I gazed too far ahead, only to have the current tug me off course. Over time, I discovered the power of keeping my hand firmly on the rudderโ€”balancing awareness of the past and plans for the future without losing sight of the present.

Balancing Past and Future

  • Honor lessons from whatโ€™s passed, but donโ€™t camp on old shores.
  • Plan for whatโ€™s coming, yet stay adaptable when the current shifts.
  • Treat memories as guides, not anchors, and ambitions as compasses, not burdens.

Hands on the Rudder: Practices for Presence

  1. Pause each morning to set an intention for todayโ€™s journey.
  2. Use brief check-ins throughout the dayโ€”three conscious breaths, a moment of gratitude.
  3. Journal one thing you learned yesterday and one thing you hope for tomorrow.

These simple acts help you ride the flow without capsizing in regrets or anxieties.

Embracing the Voyage Ahead

We are all time travelers, carried forward at a steady pace. By steering with intention, honoring where weโ€™ve been, and trusting our capacity to adapt, we make each day meaningful. The future will become what we build today, and the past remains a valuable mapโ€”both vital, but neither able to command our present.

Further Reflections

  • Consider what habits quietly steer your lifeโ€”are they guiding you toward calm waters or turbulent rapids?
  • Experiment with daily rituals that root you in the moment: mindful walking, short meditations, creative breaks.
  • Share your discoveries: how does slowing down change what you notice in your own stream of time?

Embracing Authenticity: The Path to Self-Discovery

For much of my life, I found myself unduly influenced by the perceptions of others, as well as those I presumed they held about me. This resulted in a continuous cycle of attempting to gain approval and adopting a persona contrary to my true self, all in pursuit of social acceptance and popularity. Regrettably, this led to many years spent neglecting my authentic identity and forsaking the individual I had the potential and obligation to become. Ultimately, I have come to realize that the only judgment that truly matters is my own, especially concerning my personal development and self-assessment.

In retrospect, I recognize that an excessive amount of time has been expended in regret over my actions and inactions, primarily due to an overarching concern for the opinions and expectations of others. Such a lifestyle has proven to be counterproductive, giving rise to numerous challenges related to oneโ€™s self-concept, including diminished self-esteem and an unhealthy emotional reliance on the validation of others. It is imperative to embrace oneโ€™s true self, pursue personal passions and principles, and lead a life that aligns with oneโ€™s desired self-image, ultimately cultivating a sense of self-love and pride.

It is a reassuring truth that the opportunity to cultivate self-love and embrace oneโ€™s true nature is not bound by time. Similarly, it is always possible to pursue oneโ€™s aspirations and evolve into the person one aspires to be. This journey begins with the release of apprehensions concerning the perceptions of others and fostering confidence in oneself. The most challenging aspect lies in introspection and the discovery of oneโ€™s authentic identityโ€”a process that may grow more intricate with age. Nonetheless, this endeavor is far from unattainable; it merely requires dedication and a commitment to personal growth over time.

In conclusion, the journey towards self-acceptance and personal growth is a continuous process that requires conscious effort and dedication. It involves recognizing and releasing the constraints of external validation, while fostering a deep sense of self-worth and confidence. As one embarks on this path, it is essential to utilize resources that offer guidance and support.

For those seeking to enhance their professional development, resources such as Stanford Onlineโ€™s guide on navigating professional growth1Harvard Business School Onlineโ€™s insights on achieving professional development goals2, and comprehensive personal development tools from MindGoals.org3 can be invaluable. Additionally, exploring self-acceptance exercises and activities from PositivePsychology.com4 and embracing self-awareness through Aaron Hallโ€™s insights5 can significantly contribute to oneโ€™s personal evolution.

Embracing oneself fully, with all the strengths and imperfections, is not only liberating but also empowering. It allows for a life lived with authenticity and purpose. Remember, the pursuit of self-discovery and self-improvement is not a destination but a lifelong voyage, one that is as rewarding as it is transformative.

The teachings of Ratsevod the Gliesian – Page 1

Ratsevod was a great explorer of the known universe and wandering sage of Gliese. The following is his teachings which are composed of the spiritual truths he found during his wanderings through the universe.

“Core of Being”

The Core of who you are is the result of what you believe about yourself. You set your own limits and boundaries and you can not surpass that which you believe you are capable of doing.

“Be open to your own greatness”

You came into this world with all that you need to make your life that which you desire it to be.  The Trick is learning to tap into your full potential, all the tools you need are there deep within who you are.  Only person who stands in the way of you reaching your full potential and greatness is you.

“Discover that which you are here to experience.”

Your experiences are custom-made just for you and your personal evolution. Whether it be  anger, happiness, compassion or love. Life is unfolding in the way that  it should at all times. All the experiences you have and had were the experiences that you needed to grow personally and/or spiritually .

“Do all with a full heart and experience life fully”

Give your full attention to everything that is happening to and around you in each moment. Put your mind to experiencing everything to the fullest. Experience every sensation of every experience. For instance if you walk in the rain feel the coldness of the rain drops, the speed they are hitting your body and how it feels as it evaporates from you skin. Do not let one of the experiences escape your senses .  Live fully in the now, for the past is gone and the future is yet to come. Focus on the experience of being in the now.

Focus on now and do not waste time and thought on other times and places, it only serves to distract you from all the gifts and wonders of  the experience you are now within.  Live life with vigor and set forth all your passion and enthusiasm into the moment at hand.  Do everything with a full heart.

“Love with no limits and Revere life”

Love one another, yourself and all that exists without condition or limitations.  The love you give will always be outweighed by the love you shall receive. Like the old saying you have to spend money to make money is just as true if not more so about love. You have to  give love unconditionally and fully in order to open up to receive all the love that awaits you in your life. If you give love , compassion and are thankful you will never be alone and will be surrounded by love.

Love life, respect life and be compassionate for all living things. Be a good example and more than likely others will follow in the same.  How you respond to another person is always your choice. Be kind, even to those who are unkind to you.

“Learn from life, live to learn and love without limitation.” ~Ratsevod

Sometimes we tend to get so wrapped up in ourselves that we can see the world outside. We get so caught up in our dreams, troubles and the stress of the daily grind and we allow so many wondrous sights to be unseen. So many moments of value we let slip by out of our tendency to be self involved. We also allow ourselves to get into a negative cycle of emotions when we become too focused only on our own life and circumstances.

As an individual we are not the center of the universe and we should realize there are others around us, and just like us they have feelings, desires and problems in their life. To be self-centered or focused only on your self is not a good way to live, it tends to keep you from experiencing so many grand things such as fellowship, friendship, family and community. We are social creatures by nature and to deny our selves of the sense of community is to deny ourselves from the main part of being alive and human.

In the extreme sense, being selfish and self-centered is what leads to jealousy, hatred, greed, fear and eventually wars.ย  To be humble and selfless is a better way to live, For no war has ever been started by a humble person who put others before themselves. Nor does selflessness and being humble lead to anger or fear. Worry less about keeping up with your neighbors in possessions and worry more about the guy down the road who may have no place to sleep or any food to eat. One day you could be that homeless and hungry person, for nothing in life is concrete or guaranteed.

Though money makes life easier , it does not make one happier, nor do possessions. Love, companionship and being a part of the world we live in brings far more joy and is more permanent than riches and or fame. For money and fame are fleeting kind of like physical beauty and youth.

Well enough of my ramblings for today, May your path in life be one of contentment and compassion and may you find that which makes you truly happy in life.

God Bless

Words of wisdom or wishful thoughts.

IMG_1326_edited-1To love is to live, to live is to experience Love. To fear is to miss out on love and life. To fear love is to deny yourself happiness, to fear rejection is to deny yourself personal growth and the chance to succeed. To fear what others think is to throw away your chance to be who you are truly meant to be. To be like everyone else or follow the crowd is to deny yourself individuality. To deny you are a part of the whole is to deny yourself the fellowship it can bring along with the strength it can give you. To think you are strong by your own is to set yourself p for a great fall. To think you are wise is only proof you are yet a fool. To recognize your lack of wisdom and accept your faultsย  is the first step in becoming wise. To think you have learned it all only will deny you the truth and answers you seek. To hold a grudge and not forgive only hurts you and does nothing to the one that you begrudge. To judge others harshly only sets you up to be judged in the same way.

Be humble, Be kind, Try not to judge and if you do, do it with compassion. Love one another unconditionally and learn to forgive others as well as your own self
