Random Thoughts 05-07-2018

Sometimes People walk through their life blind to the great blessings they have around them. They get hung up on either what they don’t have or what they think they should have.  Many get stuck in the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence mentality and overlook all green grass and potential in their own yard. Maybe it due to some folks too scared to put the work in to their life and relationships or they feel it is all a lost cause where they are in life. Nothing comes easy in life, nothing comes to be without some mental or physical effort.

You want a better life you have to work at it, work on changing yourself , the environment you are in and the circumstances that surround you. First thing is to get rid of both the negative and defeatist mentality that holds you back and keeps you from seeing not only the blessings around you but the potential blessings and happiness you can obtain.

Happiness is something you have within yourself, it is something that you alone create and maintain. Outside influences can affect your happiness but only as long and as much as you allow them too. In the end it is you that decide to be happy or not.  Most unhappiness comes from setting you goals way too high or expecting too much out of yourself and others. Do things in baby steps and try to see you are only human and so are those around you. We all are prone to make mistakes and we all at one time or another fall short of the expectations of others and even our own self.

Instead of dwelling on the mistakes, shortcomings and where we may lack in our abilities etc. , we should be focusing on the positive circumstances and experiences along with our known abilities. Work with what you have and add to it as you move forward, stop looking backwards and look ahead. Glancing back occasionally is fine if you do it for retrospection and to see where you went wrong in order to avoid the same mistakes, but it is not good to dwell on the past mistakes in such a way you let it fill your heart with despair and doubt.

Learn from your past mistakes but do not punish yourself beyond the moment they had happened. Grieve and move on, remembering the lessons learned not the pain associated with them.  This is why forgiveness is so important, not only does forgiveness release the person who done the wrong but it heals the person that had been wronged. Carrying grief, anger and remorse only holds one down and back from being the happy and loving person they are meant to be.

If you can move on from your past mistakes it frees you up to focus all that energy and time towards changing your life and yourself. You become free to be yourself and live life the way you are meant to. Gives you the time to tend to your own garden or yard per se and make it greener than any grass on the other side of the fence.

In a nut shell negative emotions are meant to teach us and be there to warn us, they are meant to be in the moment not a lifelong experience. Our life is what we make of it , we are the masters of our own life and destiny. How you live your life and how happy you are in it is your personal choice and responsibility.

Well there is my random thoughts today, just an average mans opinions and thoughts. May you find happiness and serenity in your life, always remember to think for yourself and question everything.

Random Thoughts 5-52018

When we are young we live life with vigor and let our true selves shine like the morning sun. As time marches on we learn to hide most of our true nature and personality in order to conform and to avoid being labeled an outsider or freak.  We will spend many decades behind a mask of our own design to protect ourselves and avoid the problems that one faces being different. Conform for work, conform for friends and in many ways conform and hide ourselves to keep harmony in our family.

Being true to oneself, being who you really are deep inside is something we owe to ourselves and the world we live in. That Diversity within personalities, beliefs and idealism is what makes the human race a force to be reckoned with. It was those who stood up against the norm and the general beliefs of their time that has pushed humankind forward, it helped us all to grow as a species and advance our knowledge and wisdom. Many of the greatest explorers and inventors were not what you would call conformists or mainstream in thinking or behavior . It’s those who push their limits and think out side of the box by being who they are to the fullest that have made some of the greatest discoveries.

Because everyone does something or believes something to be true does not mean it is so, it’s those who dare to question and explore the alternative ideals and ways that usually make the greatest discoveries and help mankind to move forward.  Do not put limits on your imagination and do not hide who you are from yourself and others. Be yourself to the maximum and practice free thought without limitations.

Of course Society needs some rules of conduct so we know how to and how not to behave in public, but this is not to say we can not be ourselves as long as we know where to put on the brakes. Behaving Civilized does not restrict one from being themselves , just keeps them from going too far is all.

Be yourself, Live life with vigor and with both respect for others and yourself. Walk with compassion and understanding as your guide. Remember we all have feelings and we all need help at one point or another in life. That person who you helped by buying him or her a dinner could be you if circumstances happen to change in your life. There is no guarantee tomorrow will come or that you will be employed beyond today.

Life is like an adventure and you are the explorer, you and the experiences you have in life are the best teachers you will ever have.

Peace and Serenity be yours

Random Thoughts 4-10-2018

In the modern world we are so bombarded by the business of life, between work and social activities we have very little down time to process it all or to recover from the onslaught of information our senses collected. Being overloaded by life we have little time to ourselves and tend to allow ourselves to become products of our environment and the situations we encounter. Dealing with all the rules of conduct and interaction  that society has put on us, we lose focus on who and what we are as an individual and become a product of modern society.  Seems people follow the crowd more so than they think for themselves or question the path they are on. Following somewhat blindly the beliefs of others without fact checking and without any sort of breaking mechanism to keep them from going to extremes.

Social codes of conduct are a must, we need some form of structure to keep our world working, but when ones persons rights or wellbeing outweighs another in the community then there is something broken within the system. When a system is designed to distribute power, wealth and necessities in a way that is completely lopsided then it is a system that ultimately is doomed.   Such systems only breed such things as elitism, prejudice and hatred amongst the classes that it creates. Many forms of social and political systems have been created and tried to create a society in which all are treated equal and some even tried to make it where all possessed equal but in the end either the government or the rich seemed to be the only ones benefitting from such.

Probably the most successful is the democratic republic style of governance that the united states uses. But there is still problems within the system due to too many unequal taxations and benefits within its laws. Seems no matter which style of government a nation has the working class carries the most weight financially, they tend to be the ones whom pay the most taxes out of their income percentage wise than any other class within the country’s social structure.

So basically no matter what style of governance a country choses and uses there is always some form of downside, maybe its due to the nature of humans  or just the fate of humanity in a whole to suffer these growing pains and the lack of equality within our societies until we grow beyond them. Well at least till we realize we all are special and not one being is above or below another. The diversity of talents and skills amongst us is what makes our species unique and has kept us alive and thriving till this day.

No job is less important than the next, it requires all positions within a company to make it successful. from the Bagger, cashier, stock person to management or from the manufacturing, assembly , shipping to management etc. If one is not there the service or product would never be finished or provided. It takes each level within a company to make the profit the owner or C.E.O. and board members seek. I think they put too much emphasis on the management far as benefits and pay and too little on the other parts of the company that actually provides the services and creates the products that brings them the profits they enjoy.  Why should a manager make say 800 a week and the guy working his tail off making the product or providing the service only make 200 to 300 dollars a week. Who is making the company more profit in the end and who is getting the most benefits from that work? The balance is off and will continue to be for that’s how it is how its been for some time. To be honest a manager should make more yes, but not 2x or 4x more, there should be a 1.25 to 1.5 to 1 ratio between the managers and workers at best. Distribute the benefits more equally and you will have workers whom feel appreciated and those kind of workers give you better service and productivity. Better the workers morale is the better it is for the company.

Well this post as random as ever, some of it which is my actual opinion and some just thoughts and views I have heard from colleagues  passed on to you  here. Some of it is just observations as well. I have no clue what is needed to be done or what has to change in our world to make it a better place, I am just putting out the questions and displaying the thoughts and beliefs of myself and some around me for all to see. I welcome all comments, suggestions and thoughts even those in opposition as long as they are not hateful, hurtful in content.

Think For yourself, be true to yourself and live to learn.

004_thumb.jpg When I was young I was an idealist, dreamer and believer in humanity.  Now as I grow older and reached the half century mark I am not as much of a dreamer but I still fight to be an idealist. My belief in humanities potential has not changed but my belief in their willingness to change has diminished. It still there, just now I see things from more of a realistic view for the dreamer is not dead just less optimistic I guess. I believe that the internet and mass media played a big part on the decline of my optimism. The constant onslaught of information being consumed comes with a heavy toll. Bad news always prevails over the news of miracles and good news. Just how it has always been in this human world far back as the first spoken and/or written word.

I dare not give up on believing in a possible future where humanity works together for the common good instead of individualistic goals or gains. As humans we are wired to be selfish because we have our own perspective of what reality and life is. We are geared for self preservation and self promotion. The mind is geared that way to ensure survival, but we also have the side of us which is compassionate and focused on the group, the emotional side of ourselves is geared to ensure survival of the group and/or species in a whole. The problem is most people have imbalance between those two sides , Some tend to see taking care of themselves as the highest priority and the taking care of the group or whole as the lowest.  Both should be high priority, the whole should be the highest but the self should be right next to it in priority.

For if one is either totally selfless or completely selfish it does not serve the group or themselves in the end. Look at it in this way, if you had a horse and it worked selflessly, not eating or drinking to pull a wagon to market it may die before it makes it there. Just the same if it was selfish and ate, drank and rested all the time for it would either never reach its destination or would reach it too late.  One extreme or the other does no one any good, I will not say there is not times that we may have to make sacrifices or be totally selfless to get jobs done, just pointing out that only in extreme circumstances that we should do such.

Well Thank you for reading the ramblings of this old fool, and may you find your own path in life.

002_thumb.jpgWhen someone begins to believe they have all the answers is when that person loses their perspective and their hold on reality. One should always be open-minded and willing to dig for the truth, not just accept the readily available and accepted beliefs. For at one time in our history we all believed the universe revolved around the earth and that the earth was flat. To the available facts we had during those periods in history who was to argue with those beliefs? Well the few great thinkers and explorers who did not accept the then known beliefs did.

It is the curious minds, those minds not set in concrete that pave the way for humanity, we must reach beyond what we know to be true and into the unknown if we are to evolve mentally and spiritually as a species. To explore, Push the boundaries of what is known is the true nature of man, when we focus on that nature we progress as a species in whole.

Random Thoughts 1-22-2018

004.jpgIf a person lives in a hobble or if they live in a palace they are no better or worse than the other. The possession of wealth, power and even education has no weight in the worth of their life or their worthiness. What makes a person great is not how much power or toys they possess, it is the riches of their heart and the compassion in their souls that is to be weighed. Some of the greatest people in history were poor and some where even uneducated compared to modern standards. Great minds come from the curiosity and strength of their desire to learn and make change in the world around them.

In the modern world we put way too much focus on superficial things as a persons looks, their charisma and their financial success. Now I give kudos to the financially successful folk, it takes a lot of hard work to get to such a level of wealth. But in the end that wealth is useless unless it is handled by one with a compassionate spirit and a forward humane mind. Far as charisma, that can be taught and copied and looks fade or can now be bough from a plastic surgeon. It’s not those gifts that matter most, though they are greatly coveted by most people. It is the ability to stand up for the unfortunate, the strength to blaze your own path and do what is right even in the face of adversity and  public disapproval. We are our brothers and sisters keeper, we are the caretakers of this beautiful and majestic world of ours.

If your brother falls from a heavy load, pick up that brother and share the load, if the river bank is covered in trash then clean it up. This world is our home and all of us are brothers and sisters of the human family. All the things we see that we believe divides us are just constructs created by our minds imagination, what does the color, religion, sex or even political party have to do with the worth of a person? Does their financial situation dictate if they are worthy of compassion or not? Too many things we tend to use as an excuse to keep us separate and keep us from taking responsibility for our lives and our actions.

Compassion, Love and understanding are three of the most important and valuable qualities found in humanity. We are a world community now, we must learn to be co-operative and understanding of one another or we will bring the downfall of our species in one way or another.

How you live your life and spend your time in it is all up to you, you can walk blindly by those in need, not listening to  those calling out for your help or you can be open-eyed and listening to the cries of others. One day it may be you on the needing end of the equation. Treat folks kindly and be a positive influence on the world we share and live in.

011_thumb.jpgOn my path through life I was faced with the decision of either continuing down a path that was killing my spirit slowly, a place of employment where I could not be myself and I was constantly put down. Well to make the story short after a supervisor yelled at me and threatened me I chose to walk away. After which I found so many people willing to be there for me in heart, spirit and even financially. I feel the Negative forces of the universe thought it would destroy me and in the end it just gave me more faith in humanity and God.

Though Times may get rough for me down the road far as finances, I will survive and I shall find a new path to walk. More faith in my heart and soul than there has been in over a decade or two I face the road ahead with many by my side. The point is this, No matter what life may throw at you there is always the good things it throws in with it, if your willing to accept them or not they are there. Just good to see folks living by the ideal that he/she is not heavy he/she is my brother/sister mentality and heart.

Thank you and God Bless every one of you for the Moral support and financial as well. I am so blessed to have good friends, be they online or in person…

The young man looks forward to growing older, to have the freedom to be who he desires to be. Unaware of the price of his freedom he marches forward in time relentlessly reaching out for the day of freedom. When he finally obtains the freedom he desires he finds responsibility, social constraints and a life time of work ahead of him. The Now older man looks behind him seeing he had far more freedom as a child than now as an adult. When a child he could be himself, express himself freely and live each day to its fullest. The older man becomes even older only to realize the freedom he sought both as a child and as an adult had been his all along, it was his own mind and he always was free.

Freedom is never for free, there is responsibility to be had as well as accountability. Freedom is always yours from birth to your last days, no man nor prison can take away the freedom within your heart , mind and soul. Freedom is more than the ability to move about freely. The only person who can take away the freedom within is your self.

In my life I have observed how easy it is to think from your personal perspective and be unaware of the total view of what is going on around myself. To be concerned for yourself and not interested in what other people are feeling, going through and how I may be actually affecting them. The thing is, this is quite common in humanity, the self preservation and self interest mentality. Even some of the most humble and compassionate people I have met fall prey to this mentality.

Most People are not totally self absorbed or selfish, but they do have times in which that side of them likes to rear its head.  Somewhere in life we all lost touch with the community or family mindset and fell to the me, myself and I way of thinking.  I do believe we need a small amount of that mindset, but our main way of thinking should be geared towards serving the family and community.  We need the uniqueness of separate identity but we also need the enriching experience of being a part of the whole.

The diversity within our species is a blessing we seem to take as a curse, we can not as a community except that which is different from what we believe or have experienced. This is one of the greatest problems we face in modern times. When will we get over the elitism, separatism, bigotry and vengeful side of our minds and hearts? When will we see we need the differences and diversity to survive and thrive, when will we see we need one another to make this world work?

The simple truth is we all are basically the same, the majority of us want a better future for ourselves and our children. Sure there is religious differences and cultural ones as well, but does that mean you must destroy or suppress that which is different from your own? We can all get along and except the different beliefs and opinions between us all if we wanted to. I do not know if its pride, fear or just lack of compassion that stops humanity from coming together and learning to be tolerant of each other.

Regardless of why, the fact remains we can not change the world if we do not change ourselves first. It is one of those things that starts from you and spreads outward as time goes. The choices you make, the words and actions you chose to say or do is what defines you in this world. It is what shapes your world and influences those around you. So be mindful of your actions and words, Have self respect and respect for all living creatures. Have compassion for others as you may one day need it in return. Life is what you put into it and make it .

The world we live in is a world of division, separation and is built around the belief one person, ideal, religion or political system is superior to another. We allow so much to separate us from each other, so much to obstruct human kind from becoming the wondrous creatures we could be. There are some in this world that do not care if everyone else believes as they do be it religious ,political or just in general. The differences between all of us could make us stronger and a unstoppable force. But unfortunately we don’t seem to be able to get beyond the fear and hate. We allow our differences to separate us and destroy the harmony and peace that could be ours.

Imagine if you will a world where regardless of nationality, religion, beliefs and or social status we all get along and work together. Could you imagine the things as a untied species we could achieve. All the money put into the war machine could be focused on finding cures for diseases, renewable energies and even space exploration. We could find solutions to the problems we face in our time if we could pull together and work towards that goal.

To be honest it is some what disappointing that as civilized as we became as a species we still harbor such feelings as envy, hate and fear so abundantly and frequently. We should find the strength to put aside such feelings and put aside our differences as well for the good of all humanity and life on this planet.

Until we outgrow such things as greed, fear, envy and the lust for power as a species we will remain on this path that leads to the eventual extinction of humanity. Those feelings and desires will probably always plague our hearts and minds but we are capable of controlling and restraining such emotions and desires if we choose to do so.

Humanity has such great potential, it has been shown through our ingenuity throughout the ages. If we learn to overcome the obstacles that keeps us separated , we can achieve the unbelievable and unthinkable.

The future belongs to everybody regardless if they be great or small in the eyes of society. What truly defines a person is their words and actions in life, not the opinions of others.
