When I Look at the smile on my niece’s face it reminds me of a time when I believe in humanity. It brings back the hope and wonder I once felt as child. It also makes me think about the world we are living in today and if as a whole we all don’t change course the world she will inherit will be one full of turmoil, fear and hate.

Hope is still in my heart that one day humanity will learn to get along with itself and all other living beings, creatures alike. Maybe one day we will learn to look beyond the illusion of separation and the misconception that one person can be above or below another. We all come into this world the same way and we all have only one way out. So between the miracle of birth and the certainty of death we should find the strength and courage to put aside all our differences to make a better world for the children of today to inherit as well as the future generations yet to come.

Truthfully most of the so-called differences between each of us is superficial or non-existent. We all desire happiness and peace within our lifetime. We all want a better world for the children and a happier existence for both ourselves and those around us. Only when we put aside such things as greed, fear and hate will we as a species be able to survive and flourish.

When I look at the smile on my niece’s face I see the hope of humanity, in the eyes of every child I see humanity’s salvation. The Children are the key to our future and we are the ones who decide what direction this world will be heading when those children inherit it from us.

tmeReset to Zero, Put behind you the memories that do you more harm than good. Reset the counter and start over, give yourself another chance like you know you should. Let go of the past, worry little of the future because the present is where you belong. Put away your anger, fear and sadness and sing out your life song. Don’t allow others to control your mood and become the navigator of your own life. Learn its far better to choose your path than to leave yourself in an ocean of strife.

The past is to learn from, the future is there to inspire you to change and grow. The present is where you live, it is where you are at all times of the day. We can not travel backwards and we surely can not jump ahead. We must live by the rules of time, we must be creatures of the here and now.  Forgiveness is but a way of releasing the hurt and pain that we accumulated in the past. Understanding is something we use to avoid hurt and pain in the present. Love is something that exists in all time and space. Love is the fuel for the heart and soul. Without love we would be less than alive, we would have little purpose to continue forward in time.

Each day you live is the day to change and grow. You are unique and special, for everyone is not the same.  Be who you are and be true to yourself as well. For being someone you are not is silly and unproductive. Follow your own heart and mind and let others walk their own path as well.

Worry not if a person likes you or not, for it is what you think about yourself that matters most. Just be the best you that you can be and show mercy, compassion and understanding to others. Be an example of what you see as a good person. Life is way too short to allow others to influence you in a negative way. So steer clear of negative people if you can not limit their influence they have on you. For Negativity don’t only affect your mind, it also affects your overall physical health as well.

Be Positive, thoughtful and aim at being a good example for others to follow. Leave a legacy of kindness, compassion, peace and love for the younger generation to learn by. It is your life, your choice and the time is now.

IMG_0097bPatterns of life, routines of the day. Habitual thought patterns and the repetitive responses to the world around us. We become so fixed on a certain way of thinking, behaving and reacting to the world around us.  Break free, think outside the box, create new and more positive routines. Become the navigator of your life and stop being the passenger.  Comfort Zones are nice, but they tend to keep us from growing and making better choices in our lives.

Also when we get in that comfort zone we tend to allow others to control a good part of our life. Everything from influencing our emotions to actually influencing the direction we are heading in our life.  When in a comfort zone you are more likely to go with the flow and exert less effort in making choices. So step outside the zone and take the helm, its your life after all. Make the best f it and be the best version of yourself that you can achieve. For you only live once , do not waste any time in enjoying it.

Patterns of life,  Routines of the day. Choose your thoughts and responses to the world around you wisely. Do not fixate on one way of doing things or one way of thinking. Find new ways to interact with the world we live in. Be a free spirit and be a person who chooses their own path in life.

011  Honor, honesty, community and compassion are dying principles in our modern society. So are things such as communication and co-operation.  Too many set in their ways, so many unable to see beyond their own little bubbles of reality. It is us or them mentality seems to be prevalent, while such things as compassion, mercy and charity seem to be put aside. We tend to make each other adversaries or enemies as we ignore the real threat to us all. Ignorance, bigotry, elitism, complacency and lethargy threaten humanity’s ability to function and possibly threaten our future.

We allow such things as greed, lust, selfishness and fear get in the way of a better world for our children and the generations to follow. What kind of world do we want to leave for them to inherit? A world full of poverty, social division and inequality? Wars, famine and hatred?  I would hope we all desire a more peaceful and equally balanced world for our children.  A world where knowledge, compassion, honor and co-operation are cornerstones to society.

What kind of legacy will we leave? what will we leave for the next generation to deal with? Shouldn’t we try to face and fix the problems in our generation so the next can focus on their own? Fear and hatred needs to be controlled and put aside for the good of all humanity.

009They all have forgotten we are still in a struggle to survive. the self preservationists and collective now is to be revived. Our separation due to desperation only destroys the structure we all are part of and rely on.  No man or woman is an island upon them selves, we function better as a family than if we are solo. Differences of opinion and points of view can change if not just add flavor to the collection of the group mindset.

Divided we shall fall but unified we shall stand, choose which way you wish to walk through this short life my friend. You have the choice to listen to the mass hysteria and mob mentality or the inner voice within us all. It is solely your decision and only you can make the call.  Judge me as you see fit, for you will do so regardless of what  say or do. for you are who you are till you choose to change yourself. Enemy or foe , the way you perceive me and others is up to you. Till you see I am not the enemy I will wait patiently with hand extended in friendship and in peace.

I don’t claim to know all the answers for I am but one small cog in the machine works of what we call life. Alone I am insignificant, but as a part of the whole I am intricate and necessary for some small reason unknown to me.  I see now we all are pieces of something larger than ourselves, even if we don’t acknowledge that fact or not we play a part in it all. Each part is equal to another, though some may be glorified more than others. Every part played has to be in order for the end product to manifest.

Ok, very random and odd thoughts that came out of my muddled brain early in the morning. Enjoy

In a great portion of religions in our world there is a universal belief in forgiveness. Buddha, Jesus and Mohammed showed mercy and forgiveness to both their friends and enemies.

A few scriptures/quotes:

Luke 6:37 (NIV) Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

John 20:23 (NIV)23 If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”

“Keep to forgiveness (O Muhammad), and enjoin kindness, and turn away from the ignorant.” (Quran 7:199)”

“Good and evil are not alike.  Repel evil with what is better.  Then he, between whom and you there was hatred, will become as though he was a bosom friend.” (Quran 41:34)”

“These two are fools. Which two? The one who doesn’t see his/her transgression as a transgression, and the one who doesn’t rightfully pardon another who has confessed his/her transgression. These two are fools. ~Buddha

When you forgive me for harming you, you decide not to retaliate, to seek no revenge. You don’t have to like me. You simply unburden yourself of the weight of resentment and cut the cycle of retribution that would otherwise keep us ensnarled in an ugly samsaric wrestling match. This is a gift you can give us both, totally on your own, without my having to know or understand what you’ve done. ~ Buddha

Now looking at those scriptures/quotes we can see forgiveness is something that is considered important to so many belief systems and/or religions.

Then why is it such a rarity in modern times? Why is their hatred, distrust and so much resentment in our world? Many read and hear the words , but few ever listen or want to embrace them. It is far easier to hate, resent and/or fear than to forgive and accept one another it seems. To hate someone because they are of a different race, religion or sex is not the right path to follow, we all are human, we all have problems, have emotions and most of us prefer to live in peace and harmony with each other.  Instead of hatred of what is different we should embrace our differences, this is what makes the human race a unique and marvelous species. Our diverse selection or religions and belief systems shouldn’t be what divides us, it should be what binds us through mutual understanding. There are similarities between most religions and we should focus on those things. Such things as forgiveness, compassion and love.

My wish is that every child of today and the future will be able to grow up happily, without war, prejudice and hatred. They deserve the freedom and happiness we have denied ourselves. It should be all about the children and the future generations not about our generations and our failings.

Freedom of Speech, Religion and Expression without the threat of oppression or consequence is the cornerstone of a utopian society. Prejudice, fear and the lack of compassion are the stumbling blocks of humanity.

Which path in life shall you choose?
