The Clock

As I watch the clock tick away each minute that my dad has left in this world, I just think of all the things he has said to me through the years. Some of it was wrong but allot of what he said makes allot more sense now than it did back then. Sometimes he was kind of mean to me but it seems he was really trying to get me to see what life is really like. I just I had listen to him back then, back when i was young and able to avoid the pitfalls of life. Now in retrospect i see how I made the mistakes he was warning me about and how I missed opportunities he told me that would come.

As the clock ticks away each hour that my dad has left in this world, I realize how much he means to me and how much he has influenced my life. I will miss that man who was my father, hero and friend. I never got to be as close to him as my brother but still in a way I believe that me and my father had our own special time and place in life. Knowing he only has a few weeks left does not make it any easier to face his and my own mortality. I maybe prepared for the day but I am not prepared for the loss that i will suffer on that day.

At least i was able to get his half brother to call and his sister and half sister to visit them, the half brother has been avoiding him for some reason for over a decade. Guess that dont mater as long as he did call and that made my father so happy. Well on the brighter side of life, I have me a little Niece that is like 15 months old who keeps my heart full of joy and always seems to break my bad moods. Unfortunately I don not have a child of my own but my niece Harley is like a ray of sunshine wherever she goes.

Well Till The Next Time, May Gods Grace Be With You All

Savannah , GA. & Tybee Island

Well just got back from Savannah GA. & Tybee Island, Was a pretty good week and allot of fun on the beach. Unfortunately its Jelly fish season so had to deal with a few stings. Places to Eat in Savannah : Churchill’s English Pub – Good eats and fair prices for savannah, had a very good atmosphere and a Bar crafted by the same person that did the bar in the T.v. show Cheers.
McPherson’s Scottish Pub – Another good place to get some Scottish food along with some American food. Prices are pretty good and loved the atmosphere.
Dizzy Deans Chicken – The atmosphere was not the best but the prices were real economical for savannah and has good food. I would suggest this place for go orders or during cooler seasons due to the lack of air conditioning.

Place not to eat is : The Lady and sons, a Paula Deen Restaurant. you may know her and her sons from food network.  Only true southern style cooking is their buffet which consists of fried chicken, Mac & cheese & brussle sprouts for around 19$, And you can have a Chicken pot Pie for about 20 Dollars. Don’t know what disappointed me more, the hour and a half waiting in line just to get a reservation or the fact they said 3:30 was when they started taking reservations and they didn’t start till 4pm. after the wait in line I was told it would be 9:30pm before I could eat so between a little bit high prices and long wait I chose to skip this restaurant. Paula may be a wonderful chef and so are her sons, I think she needs to improve on her restaurant service a bit.

The people vs. The Bush Administration.

It is no surprise that the current administration in Washington D.C. is not paying much attention to the cries coming from the American people. It seems that the working class which makes up the majority or the citizens in the U.S. are being either ignored or put aside. Between the businesses outsourcing to other countries and the lack of true regulation on healthcare and insurance , the working class person is under fire. Seems big business and major industry is the only concern in Washington until election time when allot of empty promises are made only to be forgotten or broken later.

This current administration seems to be determined to keep us at war and take away rights with the patriot act. Though the patriot act may make it easier to track and watch terrorists it also removes a few rights of Americans. Far as the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, Bush did not know nor did the C.I.A. if Iraq did or didn’t have any yet. They were just taking a gamble in order to get support and funding for the war effort spawned by bush and his administration. Yes, Suddam may have had or was in the process of trying to obtain WMD’s but we didn’t have a shred of evidence.

So misinformation, Smoke and mirrors plays a big part in the current administration. Terrorism is a real threat to not only the U.S. but to the whole world. I just want to know where are all the U.N. peacekeepers and N.A.T.O. Boys in Iraq? If this world is supposed to be so concerned with the outcome in Iraq then why isn’t their more countries helping the Iraq government to get established and secure. Iraq’s present condition may be a result of the U.S. invasion but the insurgence is also a big reason why it has grown so dire.

So hard to say bring the troops home out of Iraq and leave the Iraqis
to the slaughter. So hard to say stay in Iraq and watch our soldiers die one by one. It is a very complicated issue for sure. And I wonder if when will we pull out of Afghanistan. You do not hear much on Afghanistan in the news and you never hear any politician say lets bring them home from Afghanistan, at least I haven’t yet.

There has to be a solution to the middle east issue and I am pretty sure it should not only be a U.S. problem. It should be a problem for the whole world to face and solve. For what happens in Iraq will effect not only the middle east but the whole world.
